Intelligent Staffing-hiring beyond CTC

It is anticipated that retention will be the greatest HR challenge in 2022. Companies need to take concrete steps to win the talent war by retaining top-level talent as today employers are in a market where organizations are continually trying to get a candidate’s attention.

We all are aware that in 2022 millennials comprise the largest share of the workforce which means as an employer it is important to be attractive to this age group. For the millennials, it’s not about the CTC. Everybody can pay you money but what organizations need to understand is that they have to invest in upskilling and the future career development of their employees.

It’s a given that if you want to build a great organization, attracting top talent is a must which can be achieved by showing candidates why you should be their employer of choice in a market where trends like the gig economy and flexible working are shaping work lives.

One of the characteristics of top talent is that they’re purpose-driven and committed, to their work. Organizations that attract the best talent are ones that give their employees a deeper purpose behind their work by making them feel like they are part of something bigger. This in turn builds loyalty.

We need to empower our employees and not give the impression that they need to complete the tasks that management wants. Give the team freedom to work; don’t micromanage. Top performers don’t like to be micromanaged. Giving your employees flexibility over where they work is important. But it’s just as important to give them flexibility in how they work. If you build a workplace culture where employees feel like every aspect of their work is controlled and monitored, retention is going to be difficult.

Attractive companies place an emphasis on employee relations. According to a survey, 79 percent of employees who leave their job cite “lack of appreciation” as a key reason for their departure. Make work-life balance a non-negotiable for your team. The more you invest in your team’s wellness, the more your team will be invested in your organization–and the better you’ll be able to attract and retain top talent. Remember a well-rested and healthy employee will always be more productive than someone that is stuck in a rigid environment.
